Facts
The Pantile is a deep profiled medium sized concrete tile manufactured by Monier (a.k.a Redland). It is a popular interlocking tile with many different colours to choose from and can be seen on many roofs in East Anglia and the South of the United Kingdom.
Due to the shape and profile of this tile it can be difficult to stack them in any great quantity. They are considered to be a tough and durable tile which doesn’t break easily. They are wind tested in a special tunnel and meet British Standards (BS)
Guarantee
Like most of Redland’s profiled tiles, this one comes complete with a 15 year comprehensive guarantee that not only covers the tile but also any labour fees and also any ancillary products. For the guarantee to be effective, the installer must ensure that the roof is laid in accordance with Redland’s rather strict fixings policy.
Fixings
For roofs in London, the South and most parts of the Midlands, each tile should be fixed with a clip.
For roofs in more wind prone areas such as Scotland, Ireland and Northern England, each Pantile should be nailed and clipped.
Below is a list of approved nails and fixing clips for the Pantile along with their product codes:
- 45 x 3mm tile nails (9334)
